Apple Pie Filling Dessert Recipe |
Apple Pie Filling Ingredients:- 18 cups sliced peeled Baking Apples
- 3 tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 4-1/2 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 10 cups Water

Apple Pie Filling Instructions:- Toss the apples with lemon juice in a large bowl the set to one side.
- Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg in a Dutch oven over a medium heat then add the water and bring to a boil. Allow to boil for 2 minutes whilst constantly stirring.
- Add the apples and return to a boil. Lower the heat. Cover and simmer for approximately 6 to 8 minutes until the apples have softened.
- Allow to cool for 30 minutes then ladle into freezer containers, leaving 1/2 inch below the rim.
- Cool for no longer than 60 to 90 minutes at room temperature. Seal before freezing.
