Apple Pie Filling Dessert Recipe

Apple Pie Filling Ingredients:
  • 18 cups sliced peeled Baking Apples
  • 3 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 4-1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 10 cups Water

Apple Pie Filling Instructions:
  • Toss the apples with lemon juice in a large bowl the set to one side.
  • Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg in a Dutch oven over a medium heat then add the water and bring to a boil. Allow to boil for 2 minutes whilst constantly stirring.
  • Add the apples and return to a boil. Lower the heat. Cover and simmer for approximately 6 to 8 minutes until the apples have softened.
  • Allow to cool for 30 minutes then ladle into freezer containers, leaving 1/2 inch below the rim.
  • Cool for no longer than 60 to 90 minutes at room temperature. Seal before freezing.
