Irish Apple Recipe

Irish Apple Recipe Ingredients:
  • 8oz Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 4oz Sugar
  • 4oz Butter
  • 4 Cooking Apples
  • 1 Egg - beaten
  • Milk

Irish Apple Recipe Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Mix well together the flour, baking powder and sugar in a bowl. Chop up the butter. Do not cream or rub in.
  • Peel and slice cooking apples then add to the mixture. Mix in the beaten egg and enough milk to make a fairly stiff batter. This should appear quite lumpy with apples and butter.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased tin.
  • Place in oven and bake for approximately 1 hour.
    serve hot with custard or cream.

  • Baking time is about 1 hour.
  • Allow to cool a little before serving.

  • Serve with Cream, Ice Cream, or Custard.
