Recipe for Banana Empanada

Recipe for Banana Empanada Ingredients:
  • Cooking Spray
  • 3 cups sliced Bananas
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 -  9-inch refrigerated Pie Crusts
  • Powdered Sugar

Serves: 4

Recipe for Banana Empanada Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Use cooking spray to coat a large baking sheet.
  • Mix together bananas, sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl then put to one side.
  • Unroll pie crusts onto a flat surface.
     
  • Create circles in the dough with a ring mold. Spoon the banana mixture onto the dough rings then place another ring on top. Pinch the edges together to seal. Arrange the empanadas on the prepared baking sheet then create slits in the top of each one to allow steam to escape.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the crust appears golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and transfer the empanadas to a platter.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
