Red Velvet Cake Recipe Ingredients:- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 1½ cups Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 tablespoons Cocoa
- 1½ oz Red Food Coloring
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2½ cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon Soda
- 1 tablespoons Vinegar

Red Velvet Cake Recipe Instructions:- Cream shortening, gradually add the sugar and beat. Add one egg and beat well then repeat the process with the second egg.
- Make a paste with the cocoa and the food colouring, then add it to the mixture. Add the salt to the mixture and beat well.
- Repeat this process with the flour and vanilla, ensuring that you beat the mixture well after each addition.
- Sprinkle the soda over the vinegar then pour it over the batter.
- Stir the mixture thoroughly. Place the mixture in 3 8-inch pans.
- Place in a preheated oven at 350° for 30 minutes.
